Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor in Immunology - Two positions

The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain an externally funded research program in basic or translational immunology and contribute to our collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

We welcome applications from accomplished early- to mid-career scientists (PhD, MD, or MD/PhD) with strong postdoctoral training and expertise in immunology.

Areas of particular interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Fundamental mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity
  • Host-commensal and host-pathogen interactions (bacterial, viral, or fungal)
  • Mucosal immunology and barrier defense (gut, lung, skin, reproductive tract)
  • Immune dysregulation in cancer, autoimmunity, cardiovascular, renal, metabolic, or other human diseases
  • Translational models leveraging genetics, multi-omics, or imaging approaches.

The University of Mississippi Medical Center offers state-of-the-art core facilities (genomics, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, and high-resolution imaging microscopy). Faculty rank will commensurate with experience, and appointments will include competitive salaries and start-up packages. Candidates whose research complements existing departmental strengths or promotes interdisciplinary collaboration within the Center for Immunology and Microbial Research (CIMR) are especially encouraged to apply. /CIMR  and /cmb
